New Contract for Scottish GPs Accepted

As expected, the new contract for GPs in Scotland has been accepted

What is interesting or perhaps concerning is the 39% response rate of GPs, of which 71.5% said yes.  61% of GPs, almost two-thirds, chose not to respond yet will now be affected by the upcoming changes. Rural practices are concerned about the implications of the new contract, in particular regarding the split of the new workload-based funding allocation formula and the expectation of no uplift in income.

Health Secretary Shona Robinson is “…confident it is the very best deal for GPs right across the country as well as for patients themselves”.  Only time will tell.
